Occupied Territory
My work has always been shaped around the ideas of social
and political influence, particularly the radically evolving
global predicaments unfolding around us. I look at mankind's
present situations from a biological and anthropological
perspective. For some time the perceptions and expressions
of masculinity within these broad categories have been
the primary conceptual influence of the objects I create.
In these works I have focused on my own remembrances of
primal and learned masculinity and related them to the
social and political landscape we live in today.
